- Hi, everybody.
-
- I have recently bought and installed a Guru ROM v6.2 on a GVP Series
- II SCSI host adapter in my trusty A2000.
-
- As the manual explains, after a reboot the omniscsi.device scans the
- SCSI bus for about 15 seconds in order to identify all attached devices.
-
- However, the only devices I have are a Quantum Lightning 740 MB harddisk
- (unit 0) and an Archive Viper 150 streamer tape drive (unit 1). The
- Quantum has never had any problems spinning up before the installation
- of the Guru ROM, so it seems to be a waste of time to scan the SCSI bus
- for 15 seconds at every boot-up. I thought the answer was to set the
- RDBFF_LAST flag on the RDB of the harddisk, but now I don't even think
- the RDB is read until after the 15 seconds. Still, this is what rdbCtrl
- returns:
-
- 1> rdbctrl
- Unit 000: LastLUN LastTarget.
- Unit 001: streamer.
-
- Do you know any way that I can disable the delay?
